So I today received a polish I had ordered from a new polish designer, My Ten Friends.

I chose 'Pew! Pew! Pew!' because I'm a sucker for turquoise & red mixed together.  And this is so very truly pretty in the bottle! And I love the shape of the bottle as well - very unique and vintage.

So here are my nails after their maiden voyage upon the Good Ship 'Pew! Pew! Pew!'

Very lovely! I really, really like it and can't wait to purchase another from My Ten Nails! I'm thinking 'Carbon Based Life Form'.

The only thing I would change about this polish is that it's a pretty thick formula. However, I dripped in some thinner and I expect that will not be an issue for my next application.

I am very new to the world of indy polishes. These are, in fact, my first three.

CrowsToes 'Bunnyslope': I chose this because it reminded me exactly of the frosted "snow" you see on vintage glass Christmas ornaments.

Glitter Daze 'My White Lighter': A pale blue full of blue glitter...that glows in the dark!

Hare Polish 'Electric Flame': LOOK AT IT. Nothing else need be said.

I have not tried any of them yet - I'm still wearing my Halloween manicure and as it's not Halloween yet, we've still got a couple days til I decide to swap it out.

Here is a picture from a couple months ago of a polish jobby I'm still really proud of. Unfortunately it did not last too long, because I used black nail art tape directly on the nail. It pealed up pretty quickly, within a few days. But until then I recieved more compliments on my nails than I ever had before (or since).

I panted my nails white, then used a topcoat of SV. Once that dried, I blocked off part of the nail with scotch tape and I used a mixture of Milani and Nail Inc neons to paint in sections. Then I applied the black tape and slapped on another coat of SV and ta da!

When I don't know what else to do with my nails, I go zig-zag.

Tips are Butter London's "Trout Pout" and base is Orly's "Nite Owl".

The Little Polish That Couldn't

So today I will tell you the one nail polish I regret ever buying.

Sorry, Nail Inc.

Your Hampstead Gardens is probably the ugliest polish polish I have ever put on my nails.

What's wrong with it? Well, if I squinted just the right way I could tell myself it didn't look like baby poop. But then I realized no amount of squinting would erase the fact that it is the exact color of peanut butter

I ran for the polish remover. Usually I like Nail Inc's polishes...especially their neons from this year. But sadly, not this. I suggest if you cross paths with it in the Sephora clearance bin you just keep on moving.

Maiden Voyage

Hello there!

So this is yet another nail polish blog. It's mostly for my own pleasure, as well as a catch-all for all the pictures I take of my nails. What an obsession with my keratinious finger hooves!

I basically got sucked into the nail polish explosion a little over a year ago. I had no idea it was part of a larger passion taking place - I thought it was just me and my friends who were into the simple joys of painting nails and the cheap thrills of gathering up new polishes. Obviously I mistaken, and I am fascinated with the whole fandom that exists for nail polish and art.

Anyways, here's my current look. I just bought a cheap (as in under $5 including shipping) set of nail dotting tools off of eBay, and I am really happy with the result:
